(below verse, will be more insight  for today.)

Then came there two women, that were harlots, unto the king, and stood before him.
And the one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house.
And it came to pass the third day after that I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also: and we were together; there was no stranger with us in the house, save we two in the house.
And this woman’s child died in the night; because she overlaid it.
And she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while thine handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom.
And when I rose in the morning to give my child suck, behold, it was dead: but when I had considered it in the morning, behold, it was not my son, which I did bear.
And the other woman said, Nay; but the living is my son, and the dead is thy son. And this said, No; but the dead is thy son, and the living is my son. Thus they spake before the king.
Then said the king, The one saith, This is my son that liveth, and thy son is the dead: and the other saith, Nay; but thy son is the dead, and my son is the living.
24And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king.
And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other.
Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it.
Then the king answered and said, Give her the living child, and in no wise slay it: she is the mother thereof.
And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged; and they feared the king: for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do judgment. 1Kings 3: 16-28

It is interesting that the first few words, are ones that could be disregarded. [ “Then came there two women, that were harlots, unto the king, and stood before him.”  ] Here are two women, labeled as prostitutes, standing before a king. In this era, Prostitutes were as low as the scum on the bottom of your shoe. There was no reason why King Solomon should have met with them, nor, fight their battle and find a solution. Yet, he did, astoundingly, he did. Through his wisdom, he gained trust and reverence of an entire nation.

2.) Family. Pray for the health of your family, pray that God gives them the wisdom to make proper choices for their health and well bein. Pray for those need need of a physicl or emotional healing.

3.) Compassion, your passion. What if there was someone that tried to kill you? Would you be friendly to them, to their family? Back in biblical times, when one King took over another kings, kingdom,  the family would be completely taken out of the palace walls. With David, He found King Solomon’s grandson still living among him. Upon finding out, King David,  instead of kicking him and this family to the curb, he threw a feast for them in their Honor.  He opened his accommodations even wider, then what had previously been held.  (bible verse story below) Pray today, God opens your heart to see those in need and compassion is awakened.

We will go a little deeper into this story, if you would like to read on below the verse.

David and Mephibosheth

9 David asked, “Is there anyone still left of the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”

Ziba answered the king, “There is still a son of Jonathan; he is lame in both feet.”

4 “Where is he?” the king asked.

Ziba answered, “He is at the house of Makir son of Ammiel in Lo Debar.”

5 So King David had him brought from Lo Debar, from the house of Makir son of Ammiel.

6 When Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, he bowed down to pay him honor.

David said, “Mephibosheth!”

“At your service,” he replied.

7 “Don’t be afraid,” David said to him, “for I will surely show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan. I will restore to you all the land that belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will always eat at my table.”

8 Mephibosheth bowed down and said, “What is your servant, that you should notice a dead dog like me?”

9 Then the king summoned Ziba, Saul’s steward, and said to him, “I have given your master’s grandson everything that belonged to Saul and his family. 10 You and your sons and your servants are to farm the land for him and bring in the crops, so that your master’s grandson may be provided for. And Mephibosheth, grandson of your master, will always eat at my table.” (Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.)

11 Then Ziba said to the king, “Your servant will do whatever my lord the king commands his servant to do.” So Mephibosheth ate at David’s[a] table like one of the king’s sons.

12 Mephibosheth had a young son named Mika, and all the members of Ziba’s household were servants of Mephibosheth. 13 And Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem, because he always ate at the king’s table; he was lame in both feet.  2 Samuel 9

I am so enamored by David’s compassion in this story. David’s heart truly was after the Lords. He humbled himself before a cripple, a man, most kings would just throw out, and say  ” Away with you, and your family.” Mephibosheth was the Grandson of King Solomon. Jonathan was his father. King Solomon tried to kill him on numerous occasions. Instead, David gave him even more! Even in a time that David could have taken King Solomon’s life, he didn’t. Pray God give you the ability to be humble and honorable even in times that wouldn’t be the ” natural ” tendency or standard.
